Why I have the luxury of being philosophic

φιλοσοφία (Greek; "philosophy") φιλο (philo) = friend, σοφo (sopho) = wise; "friend of wisdom"

I have the free indulgence of investigating the truth of reality merely because it is not necessary for me to struggle to exist nor are my children starving.

The vast majority of us needlessly delegate the responsibility of investigation to others, accept without further investigation what those others dictate, and call the results "religion."
